Three focused modules on the lower limb tendons you see most, and the ones you see least, with the assessment, rehab and progressions laid out step by step.

The curriculum

3 modules on Achilles, lateral hip and tricky lower limb tendinopathy

Nine video presentations and three downloadable handouts with Tom Goom. Start with the Achilles, move on to the lateral hip, then apply the same tendon principles to the peroneal, hip flexor, adductor and tibialis posterior tendons.

Achilles tendinopathy

Differentiate Achilles tendinopathy from the other causes of Achilles and heel pain, then plan and progress rehab that works.

Three presentations with Tom Goom that take you from a thorough Achilles assessment, through the rehab that gets results, to the progressions that carry your patient back to the running and activity they want.

In the assessment masterclass you'll explore how to differentially diagnose Achilles tendinopathy from other common causes of Achilles and heel pain, so your treatment is aimed at the right problem from the first session.

Winning rehab and Powerful progressions then cover the strengthening, range of movement, load management and gait retraining you can use straight away, and how to progress them without provoking the tendon.

In this module you'll
  • Differentiate Achilles tendinopathy from the other common causes of Achilles and heel pain.
  • Use specific strengthening, range of movement exercises, load management and gait retraining with your Achilles tendinopathy patients.
  • Progress your patient's rehab step by step towards their running and activity goals.
  • Avoid ineffective treatments that hamper your results.

By the end of this module, you'll successfully differentiate Achilles tendinopathy and employ effective, progressive treatment to get uncommonly good results with this common condition.

Lateral hip tendinopathy

Assess and diagnose lateral hip pain, plan treatment that gets results, and progress rehab with confidence.

Three presentations with Tom Goom on lateral hip tendinopathy, structured around the common mistakes that hold back lateral hip pain rehab and how to avoid them in your own practice.

You'll start with assessment, diagnosis and the first steps of treatment, then move on to planning a treatment programme that gets great results and progressing your patient's rehab as their pain and capacity improve.

In this module you'll
  • Assess and diagnose lateral hip tendinopathy and start treatment with confidence.
  • Plan a treatment programme for great results, with the education and activity modification your patient needs.
  • Progress lateral hip pain rehab step by step towards your patient's daily tasks and running goals.

By the end of this module, you'll have a clear plan for lateral hip pain, from the first assessment through to progressive rehab, and know which common mistakes to avoid along the way.

Module 03

Tricky tendons

Peroneal, hip flexor, adductor and tibialis posterior. Where do you start?

When your patient presents with a less familiar tendon problem, or several painful sites, where do you start? This module covers the tendons that don't get much airtime but still turn up in clinic.

Tom shares the tendon principles that carry across every case, then applies them to the tricky ones, so you have a structured way in whichever tendon is involved.

You'll explore
  • Problems, principles and progress: the tendon principles that stay useful whichever tendon is involved.
  • Peroneal tendinopathy: distinguishing tendinopathy from tears and instability, and when further assessment is needed.
  • Hip flexor and adductor tendinopathy: loading progressed towards your patient's running demands.
  • Posterior tibial tendon dysfunction: the stages of the condition, the single leg heel raise, and when exercise, footwear, orthoses or referral are the right call.

By the end of this module, you'll have a more structured way to approach tendon cases that feel less familiar, choosing relevant assessments, tailoring loading and recognising when your patient needs additional input.
